Individual lenses MyoControl Individual for advanced myopia control
Lenses with universal defocus are designed only on refraction. For some children such defocus isn’t appropriate and it doesn’t stop the progression of myopia.
With new science methode MRT (Multispectral Refraction Topography) it has been found that relative peripheral refractive error (RPRE) causes the peripheral focus in some parts of the eye to be behind the retina. This reduces the effect of defocus.
Based on MRT measurements, MyoControl Individual lenses can now be manufactured with personalized defocus, so that light in all parts of the periphery is focused in front of the retina. This provides better control of myopia.

Powered by advanced technology, the Multispectral Ocular Examination System offers multiple models of eye health assessment, making it a must-have instrument for every optometric and ophthalmological practice.
Two functions of the system:
1. Measurement of peripheral refraction.
2. Multispectral fundus examination.
The Multispectral Refractive Topography (MRT) technology feature creates RPRE (Relative Peripheral Refractive Error) data that is used to calculate the surface of MyoControl Individual lenses.

Thondar/Alcom defocused lenses for myopia MyoControl Individual are designed and produced based on user’s peripheral refraction. These lenses assure stable and effective defocus, that control’s the myopia at highest level.

– central focus is on the retina, the eye is properly corrected,

Designed based on user defocus data obtained with Multispectral Refractive Topography (MRT) technology.
Compared to conventional lenses, the one-year clinical report shows:
– Spherical equivalent control efficiency is 72%.
– Ocular axial growth control efficiency is 67%.

After the usual refraction, the eye is measured with an MRI device (the measurement takes 2.5 seconds). An intelligent algorithm creates data for personalized defocus.
Based on the refraction and MRI measurement, Alcom produces MyoControl Individual lenses.
