Lens materials

 

Materials for lenses need to exhibit the following optical characteristics:

  • light refraction and optical homogeneity
  • low light dispersion
  • resistance to chemicals and temperature
  • high mechanical strength
  • compatibility with coatings
  • possibility of colouring

CR-39 or Allyl Diglycol Carbonate (ADC)


Lenses manufactured in Alcom exhibit all of the required characteristics – this is true of unifocal, as well as progressive, bifocal or sport lenses.

Variants:

  • white organic lenses 1.5, 1.56, 1.61, 1.67 and 1.74
  • BlueViolet Blocker lenses, that protect from harmful blue-violet light
  • photochromatic lenses Transitions Signature VII
  • Polar
  • unbreakable – Trivex, NXT and Tribrid
  • DRIVEWEAR for drivers

All types of lenses can be horizontally and vertically decentered up to 10 mm.
